President's Message January 2025

Happy New Year!

Hope you enjoyed the holiday season, and have had a moment or two to yourself!

It's interesting that I find myself less motivated to make changes and resolutions January 1st than I am in September - the unofficial New Year! While I enjoy winter (from the comfort of my home & hearth) I find I am more reflective than resolute in January - what about you?

President's Message December 2024

Happiest of Holidays!

Welcome to the most wonderful time of the year! There are so many ways to celebrate - each one focusing on letting in the light, sharing with others and peace in our world.
December brings out the best, and worst (ask any retailer) in people, so remember to be kind. Pack your patience as you travel about and support local wherever you can.

As I write this, Canada Post is still on strike, and it makes it challenging for small businesses who depend on them to deliver their packages. Ask about delivery and pick up options, and do your best to keep shopping locally.

Here's hoping your celebrations include the ones you love best, lots of fun, frivolity and laughter! Oh, and food!

Our December meeting promises to include all of the above - be sure to register early!

If anyone wants to put a little swag from their business into the gift bags (more than a business card, please) reach out to me. Same goes if you want to donate a door prize - any time, not just December. We don't mind and every loves a prize! We ask that you let us know so we can arrange tickets, etc.

'll sign off with "Merry Christmas" because that's the holiday I celebrate; know that it means "I wish you and your family all the best, however you celebrate".

Our RSVP numbers are submitted to Kelseys that day as they need to know
numbers for staffing

Please Note:
This month's RSVPS for our numbers are especially important so that no one misses
out on some of the special things planned for the evening

If you reserved your dinner spot and can't attend please contact us right away so that
we can try and fill the spot with someone else that may be on a waiting list.

As always we welcome all women to the OBWA and we are encouraging our members
to bring a guest or two to our December meeting!

We have brought back some of our old traditions to our OBWA Dinner Meetings! Toonies for Toiletries where the money collected goes for hygiene products for those in need in the community.

The Sharing Place are desperately in need of Donations. We will be collecting non-perishable food items and as well Clean Reusable Grocery Bags which we will donate to the Orillia Sharing Place
Thank You to those that donated food & reusable bags at our November meeting
56 Pounds of non-perishables were dropped off to Sharing Place!

As well we will be doing a 50/50 draw at each meeting!
