Here’s what The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario says about the importance of Registered Nurse Case Managers, and why we believe Registered Nurse supervised and case managed care is essential for seniors:
"RNAO (Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario) has long advocated for appropriate access to professional nursing services, and has expressed concerns regarding the impact of less qualified caregivers on the health of patients. RNAO’s position is that Ontarians must have access to care from the most appropriate and best-qualified care provider. It is the position of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) that Registered Nurses are ideal Case Managers."
"RNs possess a broad nursing knowledge base that includes human/medical sciences, psychology, sociology, administration, and health care economics. This enables the Registered Nurse to identify the multiple and complex bio-psychosocial needs of those receiving care."
"In addition, the RN’s comprehensive view of health and understanding of the scope of other health care professionals facilitates the provision of integrated care that is both efficient and effective. This also enables Registered Nurses to design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate effective and cost efficient care."

Our Registered Nurses advocate for our clients
As health care professionals our Registered Nurses consult with other Health Care Professionals, Doctors, Social Workers, Therapists, Pharmacies etc. and case manage the care of all of our clients. We know who to talk with and how to access the important resources our clients need.
Communication is Key
It isn’t uncommon to have families scattered across the country or even in some cases across the globe. Living a distance from your parents makes it difficult to truly know how they are coping. Phone calls home to your parents may not paint an accurate picture of what is truly going on in the home. Happy at Home prides itself on its Gold Standard communication with families and clients. It is important for families to feel that they can communicate at any time with a Registered Nurse to inquire about the status of their loved ones. We answer to you. You will always have someone to talk to, someone you can trust, and someone who will act on your behalf. We take our responsibilities very seriously.
Guaranteed Arrival
Seniors with dementia often have difficulty keeping track of time. When a shift for your parent is scheduled for three hours, you want to know the caregiver will be there for the full three hours. Rest assured… Happy at Home will guarantee your caregiver arrives on time and remains for the entire shift. Happy at Home offers complete accountability with exact login and logout times allowing us the ability to reflect real time on invoicing and giving you peace of mind that a caregiver will be present at the exact time you arranged and stay for the exact time allotted. Using a system called telephony, our caregivers place a call from your parents phone that registers within our system to announce their arrival, and again makes the same call when they leave the home.
