OBWA President’s Message
November 2024
Hello! Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful - did you gobble till you wobble?
We are grateful to our Members who participated in the Chamber of Commerce Expo! Special thanks to the members of the Executive Committee, who took care of things while I was out of town.
November brings Remembrance Day, and our special guest who is a member of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Those of us, of a certain age, will remember walking to the cenataph on Nov.11 with our schools. As a Girl Guide, we walked in the parade every year - proudly bearing our Canadian Flag and our Unit colours.
When you hear the words this year, "we will remember them", keep in mind the ones who served our country; and the ones who still do.
Hope you have a wonderful meeting, and I will see you in December.

November Dinner Meeting will be held on November 13, 2024 at Kelsey’s Roadhouse Restaurant,
405 Memorial Ave. Orillia, L3V 0T7.
The restaurant will be following the Covid Protocol that is currently in place at their establishment.
You MUST e-mail OBWA at: reserve@orilliabusinesswomen.com by 3 p.m. Friday November 8th, 2024
Our RSVP numbers are submitted to Kelsey’s that day as they need to know numbers for staffing so rsvp
before November 8th.
If you reserved your dinner spot and can’t attend please contact us right away so that
we can try and fill the spot with someone else that may be on a waiting list.
As always we welcome all women to the OBWA and we are encouraging our members
to bring a guest or two to our November meeting!
Bring your toonies!
Toonies for Toiletries where the money collected goes for hygiene products for those in need in the community.
The Sharing Place are desperately in need of Donations. We will be collecting non-perishable food items and as well Clean Reusable Grocery Bags which we will donate to the Orillia Sharing Place

There will be a 50/50 draw!

$10 for non members which is payable at the door

We are encouraging all paid members in good standing to update their Slide Show so we have one for each of our members. This slide show is shown at each of our meetings and lets those in attendance know who you are and what your business is. It is one of the perks of being a paid member. Corry Ticknor can take care of that for you but she needs your particulars so please contact her with your information. Also by being a paid member we encourage all members to make sure they have their business information on the Shop Orillia Site. It is free and all you have to do is register on the site. It is a great way to advertise your business online!
Please note: Memberships are due September 1st , 2024 & need to be paid for you to be a member in good standing. $100 membership fee will keep you a member in good standing until August 31,2025 . Members have the privilege of posting on social media & have their information about their business and themselves on our website as well as posting on Face Book. Non-members can attend meetings though without the other privileges. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact one of our executive members.
