President’s Message October 2024
Grateful, Thankful, Blessed!
Those are words often heard in October, as we celebrate Thanksgiving. To whom are you grateful? For what are you thankful? How many ways are you blessed? As we strive to fulfill our obligations to family, work, friends and ourselves, we need to stop and consider those questions.
I'm grateful to my hubby, Dave. He's stuck with me for 35 years, 33 married in October. The man deserves a medal! Lol. I'm thankful for so many things – family first, then friends and finally, work that pays the bills and other work that is fulfilling. My blessings are many – much love from family and friends, food everyday and shelter.
As always, we support the Sharing Place with food donations and various outreach non-profit groups with our Two-nies for Toiletries.
Happy Thanksgiving!
On another note, the Orillia Chamber of Commerce is having a Trade Expo to celebrate Small Business week. The OBWA is taking booth to help promote our group, and we invite current members to sign up for an hour or two. It's being held Thursday Oct. 24, 1-6:30 and Friday Oct. 25, 8:30-4:30. While you're there, you are encouraged to wear your business’ logo, have your pamphlets, business cards, swag on the table as well.
See you October 9th!
Cheers,
Trisha Cuthbertson
President

Closing words from our Vice-President
We are encouraging all paid members in good standing to update their Slide Show so we have one for each of our members. This slide show is shown at each of our meetings and lets those in attendance know who you are and what your business is. It is one of the perks of being a paid member. Corry Ticknor can take care of that for you but she needs your particulars so please contact her with your information. Also by being a paid member we encourage all members to make sure they have their business information on the Shop Orillia Site. It is free and all you have to do is register on the site. It is a great way to advertise your business online!
