President’s Message December 2021
Hello!
We are heading into December already. Can you believe it? Seems Christmas shopping is in full swing.
On November 10th we were able to schedule a lovely dinner evening at Lot 88. There were 13 in attendance and I think that is a positive beginning to getting back on track. It seemed a good time was had by all and as always we were able to manage to pay tribute to our veterans in spite of being in the middle of a restaurant. Lots of networking and meeting of new attendees was encouraging to see. Thank you to all who attended and we definitely missed those who were unable to. Be sure to check in with us to see what we have planned for our January dinner meeting.
Our 2021 Gala is less than 2 weeks away (Wednesday December 8th) and we are excited to be able to view it on YouTube this year as well as Facebook. Start times will be posted but likely Cocktail Hour will be 6:30pm and the event will officially begin at 7pm. We are so thankful to our judges who always find it so difficult to pick just one recipient among our nominees. They are all so deserving. We are pleased to announce that Raffaella Tassone, owner of TNT Fine Lingerie Boutique is our Nelle Carter Woman of the Year recipient. Be sure to tune in to our Gala to see which young lady will be our recipient of the Lisa Brooking Young Woman of the Year. Good luck Emerson Garces, Paige Hannan and Kiley O’Connor!
It’s not too late to sponsor in order to help us fund this Virtual Gala. If you are able to, please contact any of our executive members or email orilliabusinesswomensnetwork@gmail.com.
I’d like to thank Ronda Hales, our Treasurer for her valuable input, hard work and dedication to the OBWA Executive as she steps down from her position. Also, to Andrea Sullivan, Leah Cavanaugh, Shelle Hossack and Susan Zaroski for their perseverance in helping to keep our organization up and running during these difficult and challenging times. Thank you! These wonderful ladies are also responsible for putting our Gala together again this year and making it the best possible event regardless of the restrictions placed upon us.
As always, thank you to Charlene Mackenzie for creating our Zoom Membership Meetings and the wonderful ladies who attend monthly. Hopefully you won't need to be doing this much longer Charlene.
Much love and respect to all. Stay well and safe.
With Warmest of Regards,
Sharon L. Van Noort, OBWA President
