  • The full-grown larva is 40-50 mm in length, hairy and brownish black with blue spots along the body and a white stripe running the length of the back
  • Larvae live in a large single tent
  • Adults moths are reddish brown with 2 pale stripes going diagonally across each wing
  • They build a large single tent
  • One colony can strip the leaves of whole branches

  • Centipedes have 1 pair of legs per segment and move very quickly

  • Centipedes and millipedes prefer moist, protected outdoor habitats such as rotting logs, leaves, bark and the undersides of stones
  • Centipedes are carnivorous and kill their prey by injecting them with venom
  • Millipedes are beneficial because they feed on decaying organic matter
  • Prefer moist areas outside but can be treated if they invade your home through cracks in the foundation
