Scales Nature Park will re-open for the 2020 season in March!

Many of the animals are in hibernation for the winter! Check us out on Facebook for news as we work on various fixes and improvements. We still take a limited number of tours by appointment booked ahead, depending on our staffing.

Outreach programming continues year-round, so call or email us about your event!

Scales Nature Park is a conservation centre focused on Canadian reptiles, amphibians, and fish, and the habitats that sustain them. Our nature centre features the most complete live collection of Canadian reptiles and amphibians, with unsurpassed opportunities to learn about these creatures. The park features nature trails, a picnic area, and a variety of natural habitats including provincially significant wetlands, cold water streams, and mixed forest. Group bookings are welcome. Outreach programming is available for events across Ontario, or farther by special tour. Research and stewardship projects are on-going and constitute a major portion of our work.
