About Us
About Orillia Business Women’s Association
Founded in 1987 The Orillia Business Women’s Association is a non-profit, non-fundraising group that gathers in a safe and welcoming environment for the purpose of networking, meeting women, enjoying a delicious meal, learning from guest speakers and having fun. At this time we are meeting every second Wednesday of each month at Kelseys, 405 Memorial Ave., Orillia, until we finalize a home base for meetings. You may bring any business literature to display. Dinner is a la carte and no meeting fee. After dinner there is a presentation by a guest speaker. A one year membership is only $100 per year . We take the summer (July/Aug.) off and meetings resume in September.
ALL women in business welcome!
Woman & Young Woman of the Year Event
Every year, the OBWA hosts the Nelle Carter Woman of the Year Awards & Lisa Brooking Young Woman of the Year Awards. The Woman of the Year Award is given to someone respected for her outstanding work in her community, in the workplace, at home, or all three. The Young Woman of the Year, nominees being nominated by her school, must demonstrate high scholastic achievement, participation in extra school activities, volunteer work in the community and be seeking post-secondary education.
This year, we will be hosting an in person Gala. Follow our website and facebook page for details. You may contact us at networking@orilliabusinesswomen.com with any questions.

About the Executive Committee
The Executive committee meets on the first Monday after the OBWA Dinner each month to review and plan the operation of the Association. This group makes policies for the group and keeps things running smoothly. Motions affecting the members-at-large are brought forward at the dinner meetings and voted on by the members present. Ideas and suggestions are always welcome.
