WHY NORWOOD?

In a nutshell: Innovation, Quality & Integrity.

No other company has more portable sawmill patents than Norwood – period. And every Norwood is quality-built in the USA & Canada. They’re designed, and built, to mill millions of board feet reliably and smoothly. Dollar for dollar, you won’t find any portable sawmill that’s more productive, or easy-to-use, than a Norwood.

Norwood Portable Sawmills – brand-name reputation you can trust.

MORE PATENTS THAN ALL OTHER PORTABLE SAWMILL COMPANIES COMBINED

Norwood Sawmills holds over 50 patents in sawmilling, that make it simpler and more efficient for your milling, like our Auto Locking Sawhead. All of our competitors combined do not hold this many patents. Learn more about Norwood's innovation by watching the video below.

NORWOOD IS BUILT TO WORK

Original Norwood mills from 1993, over 25 years ago, are still running strong! Many of which are operating two 8-hour shifts a day, milling even the hardest exotic hardwoods (that are more than 3 X harder than American hardwoods) in Africa, South America and Australia.

Log Deck Proven to Support 10,000 lbsThe LumberPro uses twin double-plated debossed commercial-grade steel rails in its wide-track log deck. Debossed steel is much stronger and more rigid than flat, unformed steel. Combined with the boxed front & rear-end frames, this log deck gives you greater strength, stiffness, lighter weight, and ultimately greater structural integrity.

But all those manufacturing details don't make the point clearly enough. So, we removed all the supports from the LumberPro's log deck. Then we loaded a whopping 10,000 pounds of logs in the middle.... YAWN!! Nothing happened.

4 Post Carriage Frame Ensures Even, Accurate Milling

Norwood’s cutting head is designed to eliminate any bounce or sag that you can experience on less rugged sawmills.

The fully supported 4-post design is fortified with structurally engineered reinforced 2” X 5” precision-extruded vertical guides, and heavy gauge 2 ½ structural tubular steel rear vertical mounts & front horizontal stabilizer bar.

This means the LumberPro manages higher load inputs for better milling with more accuracy & control.

Built in America

Every component of every Norwood sawmill is made of top-quality steel by highly-skilled operators with cutting-edge fabrication and machining technologies. Norwood sawmills are designed and manufactured so that you will be able to rely on yours for the rest of your life.

NORWOOD IS BUILT TO LAST

The fact that many Norwood customers continue to use earlier-model equipment like the LumberMate 2000, the LumberMate MK1-MK4 and the LumberLite LL24 is testament to the quality and durability of our portable sawmills. And we do certainly continue to support those valued customers with quality parts and accessories to keep their sawmills in fine working order or to expand their capabilities for larger projects.

Commercial-Grade Powder-Coat

Industrial-grade powder-coating protects your investment better, and longer, than old-fashioned spray-paint, which chips, scratches and rusts out in no time. Sure, it costs a lot more to powder-coat steel. In fact, other companies choose to spray-paint their sawmills to save costs and make more money.

You want a sawmill that’s going to work hard, and look good for years to come. That’s why Norwood finishes every critical component on your portable sawmill with the very best powder-coating money can buy.

AT NORWOOD, VALUE IS BASED ON FIVE IMPORTANT PILLARS

1. Integrity, Honesty, Loyalty & Hard-work

Integrity, honesty, loyalty and hard-work are at the heart of Norwood – who we are, how we work and how we treat our customers. Norwood works hard to engineer and manufacture reliable, efficient and accurate portable sawmills & forestry equipment in North America, and we work hard to keep a large inventory of sawmills in stock so you can get to work right away. We treat each customer with absolute honesty to make sure that the equipment is the right fit for his individual needs. We believe in integrity, loyalty and standing behind our equipment, our customers and our staff.

2. Equipment Quality vs. Prices

Norwood is committed to offering reliable, high-quality, hard-working forestry equipment at fair prices. Norwood’s roots began when founder Peter Dale wanted to buy a portable sawmill to build a cabin in the woods, but he couldn’t afford any of the sawmills that were available. He decided to build his own – one that he could count on to efficiently mill accurate lumber and yet was affordable. The heart of Norwood’s mission and philosophy was born: quality and fair prices. We won’t sacrifice either.

3.Production vs Maintenance Cost

Some sawmill companies actually plan on making profits from selling replacement parts – they design their equipment with that in mind! Norwood’s philosophy is totally opposite – we try our hardest to design and manufacture each and every single component on every Norwood sawmill for trouble-free reliability. We don’t want parts to wear out – our goal is that every Norwood owner’s operation runs at peak efficiency. Because there is almost nothing on our portable sawmills or forestry equipment to wear out, we get very, very few calls for parts. But rest assured, if you ever do need anything, Norwood carries everything in stock and can get whatever you need out to you right away.

4. Norwood Owners Come First

We could tell you that we stand behind every Norwood portable sawmill and every Norwood owner. But then again, lots of companies say that sort of thing. They talk about their service and their customer support, but then you call them and … well … you know the rest. So, we’ll leave it up to our customers – hardworking Norwood owners, to tell you about Norwood’s loyalty and service. Listen to what our customers have to say – read their stories and visit Norwood Connect, Norwood’s Online Chatroom. Or visit a Norwood owner – Contact us and we’ll put you in touch with one near you. 5. Resale Value

Norwood sawmill owners love their mills. So it’s hard to find anyone willing to sell theirs. But, when well-maintained Norwood sawmills do come up for resale, they often sell for almost their full initial purchase price! In other words, with virtually zero depreciation! Why? First, the price of new Norwood sawmill equipment is very fair and affordable which means no initial “drive-it-off-the-lot” deprecation-hit that comes with machines sold for bloated prices. Second, because Norwood portable sawmills and log skidders are designed to last … and last … and last, there are very few parts on used machines that wear or need replacing. If it works just as well after ten years as it did new, it’s just as useful and just as valuable.
